TI Takes Mathematics Instruction to a Whole New Level with the TI-Nspire CAS Calculator

The TI-Nspire™ CX CAS provides algebraic capability to symbolically solve equations, factor and expand variable expressions, complete the square, find antiderivatives, computer limits and exact solutions in irrational forms, making it a robust hands-learning tool that satisfies math and science curriculum needs from middle school through college.

Calculator - Perform computations and enter expressions, equations and formulas in proper math notation.

Graphs - Plot and explore functions, equations and inequalities, animate points on objects and graphs, use sliders to explain their behavior and more.

Geometry - Construct and explore geometric figures and create animations.

Lists and Spreadsheet - Perform mathematical operations on data and visualize the connections between the data and their plots.

Notes - Enter notes, steps, instructions and other comments on the screen alongside the math.

Data and Statistics - Summarize and analyze data using different graphical methods such as histograms, box plots, bar and pie charts and more.

Vernier DataQuest™ Application - Create a hypothesis graphically and replay data collection experiments all in a single application.

Accelerate the Understanding Process

The TI-Nspire™ CX CAS handheld’s innovative capabilities support teaching strategies that research has found accelerate understanding of complex mathematic and scientific concepts.

Make Real-World Connections

Import digital images – including your own photos – and overlay graphs and equations on them to see math and science at work in the physical world.

Enter Values In Proper Notation

Integrated mathematics templates permit students to enter expressions and see math symbols, formulas and stacked fractions just as they are printed in textbooks and on the board.

The unique Chem Box feature lets students easily input chemical formulas and equations.

Click, Scroll, Create and Save Like a computer

Use intuitive drop-down menus to navigate through the TI-Nspire™ CX CAS handheld.

Create documents and pages and save your work as simply as opening, editing and storing files on a computer.

This calculator model can change its keyboards, allowing it to access different operating systems. Included are a TI-84 and TI-NSpire keypad, allowing one to use the general-purpose, user-friendly utility of the classic 84 or the more advanced NSpire. One should note that the screen resolution is kind of low compared to updated 84 models. In addition, updated 84 calculators use improved displays that show functions more clearly. For example, the integral function on this device requires "fnInt( function, x, a, b )" while newer calculators write integrals similar to handwritten ones.
Despite those flaws, this item is definitely a good calculator overall.

This calculator works perfect. I love that it has the two different keypads. Everyone who saw it thought it was very cool even the teacher.

This calculator is just fantastic. As an engineering student, this is my best friend. It has built in functions for almost anything I could imagine. Summations? It has it. Integrals? It has it. Multivariable integrals? YOU BET IT HAS IT. The calculator also comes with an extra keypad to emulate the TI-89. I never really use this, but when I tutor high school students, they are more familiar with that style of calculator, so its pretty handy. Another thing I enjoy from TI is that they offer a free software to supplement the calculator. It allows you to type notes into the calculator and use the computer monitor as a display. They also put out software updates frequently which fix very minor bugs, according to them. I've personally never noticed any such bugs.

I bought this calculator for my son who is going into 7th grade and he will use it through High School. It seems to be good quality so far.

The calculator works great and was as exactly as described.
I purchased this calculator to replace/repair a broken screen on a blue case version of the calculator. The yellow case delivered had markings ("School Property" and an ID number) which I did not want to send to school with my son. The placement of components on the circuit board from the yellow case was different for the placement on the circuit board from the blue case. As such, the new circuit board/screen did not fit into the blue case. I was able to make it work with an exacto knife - removing some foam and plastic from the blue case, but I could not fit the circuit board from the blue case into the yellow case.
