TI-30XA Scientific Calculator Able to Perform General Mathematical and Scientific Task.
Once you get to a certain level of math classes, a regular calculator just isn't good enough anymore, you need a high-functioning scientific calculator that can perform algebraic, trigonometric, and statistical problems in addition to general mathematical tasks.
The Texas Instruments TI-30XA calculator are able to do this for you. It is extremely handy when it comes to figuring tricky fractions. It can add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions when entered in a traditional numerator/denominator format. This calculator can also do a variety of conversions, from fractions to decimals, degrees to radians to grads, DMS to decimal to degrees, and polar to rectangular. The display screen holds up to 10 digits.
For high school or college students tackling advanced math or science subjects, this is a great tool (and a thoughtful back-to-school gift), and with more professors allowing the use of calculators during classes and exams, it's a necessary one. Easy to use and easy to slip into a backpack, the TI-30XA scientific calculator will soon become indispensable for both the serious and the striving math student.

Coming from the TI-84 and TI-89, this ti-30xa scientific calculator is very easy to use and provides a good screen, compared with the competition. It is also very easy to just through into a backpack because it weighs practically nothing. One thing that was good is that the button layout was similar to the larger models, so it was not that hard of a transition.
Pros:
-Easy to use and lightweight.
Overall, if you are looking for a scientific calculator, this is the one to get

great calculator. I have used this model and the previous model calculator for years in my job as an engineer in the Oil field with no issues. I purchased this one for my daughter to use in junior high. She has used it almost an entire year with no issue so far and hasn't lost it yet.
This calculator is rugged and will last for years with minimal effort to take care of it. Great value for the $$.

I've had two of this model of calculator for years and years, keeping one in my purse and one in my desk at work. The one at work recently started having a sticky key or two, and the battery for the one in my purse died. The fact that I replaced them with the same model speaks for itself. I work in a laboratory and need a calculator with scientific notation. I love that these have that, are reasonably priced, slim, lightweight and easy to carry. I really like hard shell slider that protects the front of the calculator when it's not being used. No worries about it accidentally getting turned on while in my purse and draining the battery. The batteries last for years, by the way. This calculator works great for all my needs, and I would definitely buy it again.

I am a Math Prof and I bought a few of these as backups for students during remedial algebra exams. It is the simplest and cheapest scientific calculator you can order and still get GOOD quality. If however, you plan on going onto higher level mathematics, it is recommended you buy a more sophisticated model that can handle equations in the same manner that they are written.

Simple, inexpensive, easy to use scientific calculator! I was looking for an inexpensive, uncomplicated, simple calculator that I could easily pick-up and use for budgeting/home office tasks--I found it!

A really nice calculator - it has an "old school" keyboard that's getting hard to find, i.e., it has a [+/-] that changes positive values to negative values and vice-versa (which newer keyboards lack!). It also has a nice statistics package - very easy to enter data and get means ans standard deviations (both population or sample) without having to go through a [non-intuitive] menu stack.
This one's my choice for everyday calculations - and I teach Stat and Operations Research.
A great calculator for an excellent price.
